VAST 2005 Symposium - Info for Speakers

Full Papers

Authors of accepted full papers will have to give a 30 minutes oral presentation (including 5 minutes for questions from the audience).
Please present yourself to the Session Chair well before your session start.

Authors slides will be presented via a video projector (see details below).

Short/Project Papers

Authors of accepted SHORT and PROJECT papers will be required to do a short presentation (15 minutes net time, question postponed to the poster session). Moreover, there will be an opportunity for informal questions and discussion during the dedicated Short/Project Paper Posters Breaks. Each SHORT/PROJECT paper will be also presented in a poster session (during the coffee break following oral presentation). It is therefore a REQUIREMENT for publication that you prepare both a short oral presentation and a poster of your short paper for display. The exact lay out of the poster is at your discretion but the poster should be of A0 size and preferably laminated. If you have any queries regarding these final requirements, feel free to contact us at vast05@isti.cnr.it

Audio Visual Equipment

Conference presentation rooms will be equipped with:

Presenters are encouraged to bring their own laptop for FULL/SHORT/PROJECT presentations. For speakers not bringing their own laptops, the best options for basic Microsoft PowerPoint presentations are to bring along a portable USB drive or burn the presentation file onto a CD along with any necessary software plug-ins. Time will be available the evening previous to your presentation to load your presentation onto the actual PC you will be using, with time to check for any movie/sound link issues. Please email with any special equipment or software requests.

Speaker Preparation Room

The speaker's prep room will have a small LCD projector and a screen for testing your laptop's video output. We encourage you to test your presentation material with this equipment a day prior to your presentation. We will have wired and wireless Internet access in the nearby Internet room and hope to have printer availability nearby.
Contact with any equipment requests or questions. We will do everything possible to accommodate a presenter's individual needs.
