I am a PhD student at IMT Institute for Advanced Studies Lucca, in "Management and Development of Cultural Heritage" and I am also associated with the Visual Computing Laboratory ISTI-CNR, Pisa.



Education

2012 Master Degree in Digital Humanities ("Informatica Umanistica") at Pisa University, specialization in "Graphics, interactivity and Virtual Environment" (grade: 110/110 cum laude)
The thesis, titled "Information Landscapes: usability studies and development of a web editing tool", has been developed at PERCRO Laboratory of Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna di Pisa and deals with Information Landscapes, particular Virtual Reality applications mainly made up of texts and images arranged in a 3D space. In order to foster their diffusion and use, a prototype of web editor for Information Landscapes has been developed as well as some usability studies have been performed, followed by software improvement.

2009 Bachelor Degree in Digital Humanities at Pisa University (grade: 110/110 cum laude).
The thesis, titled "Usability in Web browsing by means of last generation mobile devices", and developed at HIIS Laboratory (ISTI - CNR ), deals with the problem of the web navigation through mobile devices assessing the need for automatic adaptation of web sites for mobile devices. A software for usability evaluation has also been developed.

2004 Diploma as "Perito tecnico informatico" at Istituto Tecnico Industriale G.Galilei, Livorno.(grade: 100/100)

In the last years I also attended courses in Computer Graphics for cultural heritage, acquiring skills in the field of 3D scanning and 3D modelling for cultural heritage




Technical skills




Research

My research interests are in the field of technologies applied to cultural heritage. In particular I'm interested in finding innovative solutions or methodologies that make use of technologies - especially 3D graphics and virtual reality - for the study, valorization, documentation and dissemination of cultural heritage. I also have interests in the field of usability of interactive applications.
